SPORTOLOGICALLY SPEAKING
Athens hosted the first Intercalated Olympic Games in 1906, between the 1904 St. Louis games and the 1908 London Olympics. The IOC planned that this second series of games would also be held every four years, but only in Greece. Even though these games were more successful than the 1900 or 1904 Olympics, they were held only once and their medals are not included in the IOC's official tables.
