Manchester United great Paul Scholes has shown interest in Serie A Giant Inter when he was at Old Trafford.
Scholes has spent his entire career with United and has won 11 Premier League titles and two Champions League titles, among numerous other trophies.
Despite being one of the best midfielders in the world, the former England international said he only once heard of his interest in his service – from the Inter in 2000.
“I’ve never been aware of a team coming up for me,” Scholes told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“I had a phone call from Brian Robson’s old agent, when he asked me when I was at Euro 20 that I was interested in going to Inter Milan but it was the only phone call I had ever heard of and the manager never told me anything. .
“I was playing in my boyhood club, I’m a Manchester boy, we used to win trophies all day.
“If the director told me he didn’t want me, I could definitely go abroad if a big club wanted me. I never had to think about Barcelona, Real Madrid or AC Milan because I was the biggest club in the world anyway.
“We didn’t win as much as we should have in the Champions League but we were every inch as good as those teams, if not better.”
