Jeremy Boga has attracted interest from Atlanta and Napoli, among other European clubs, but it is unclear to Wing’s agent whether Chelsea will activate the buy-back clause.
The 23-year-old has impressed in Serie A since joining Sassuolo, scoring eight goals in the currently suspended 2019-20 campaign.
After spending time in Rennes, Granada and Birmingham City to take loans, Boga moved to Italy in 2018 after making his first team appearance at Chelsea.
The Premier League club has the option of signing the player back, although Bogar’s brother Daniel – who is acting as his agent – is unaware of the possibility of his return to Stamford Bridge.
Asked in an interview with Calciomercato.com if Chelsea were unwilling to trigger the move, he replied: “Right now, I can’t tell you.”
If the Blues decide to return to England, there are probably other options at the bogger table – including Sassuolo’s top two air rivals in Italy.
Daniel Boga has revealed that he has held talks with both Napoli and Atlanta – as well as “other European clubs” – but has yet to make any contact with AC Milan, despite speculation that they want to move forward.
“As far as AC Milan is concerned, I haven’t had any contact with them yet. I don’t know if they are really interested in Jeremy,” he said.
“You have to see what the sports project will be like, but Milan is a great club. It can always be interesting.”
Sassolo has resumed training before a possible return to Serie A in June. The league has been suspended since March due to the coronavirus epidemic.
