In recent years, the likes of Finn Baller, Zinder Mahal and Kofi Kingston have been briefly involved in the filming of the main event after winning the World Championship, but they moved away from the card after their title reign ended.
WrestleTalk’s Louis Dangur reports that Drew McIntyre, like these three superstars, has been one of WWW’s top attractions for several years.
“Our sources have confirmed to us that the WWE management has been so impressed with the draw in recent weeks that they will see it as a major evening for years to come. We’ve been told that in recent years we’ve seen with Finn Balor, Zinder Mahal and Kofi Kingston that his title reign won’t be nearly one-off, so hopefully see him at the top of the card for the future. “
Draw McIntyre as WWE Champion
Drew McIntyre lost to Brooke Lesnar for the WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 3I.
Since then, he has held the WWE Championship against The Big Show and Seth Rollins, while he is currently preparing to defend his title against Bobby Lashley in the backlash pay-view.
The WrestleMania report adds that the WWE was impressed by what Drew McIntyre has done in the media over the past few months.
It was further mentioned that Vince McMahon and Paul Heyman believe that Scott could be the figurehead of WWW and RAW in the coming years and that the company could build a whole roster around him.
The latest episode of RAW saw Draw-McIntyre see King Corbin in an untitled brand-to-brand invitational match.
With the MVP beside him, Bobby Lashley watched the nine-minute encounter from the top of the entrance ramp to get a closer look at the man who would challenge him for the WWE Championship in the backlash.
