According to Fabio Capello, inter-star Lautaro Martinez’s refusal to travel to Barcelona would be a substitute for La Liga champions.
As the main transfer target of Martinez Bar্সa, the Spanish giants are looking to sign a long-term replacement for veteran forward Luis Suarez.
Associated with Real Madrid and Manchester City, Martinez scored 16 goals in 31 games across all competitions before the Cornovirus epidemic brought the game to a standstill.
However, Capello, the former head coach of Madrid, Milan and Juventus, has called on the Argentine international to stay on course.
“If it were me, I would be at Inter,” Capello told La Gazeta dello Sport.
“He will be an alternative in Barcelona.”
Martinez has a 1 111 million release clause and is unwilling to accept anything less than the reported interest in Inter Bar্সa.
However, the Covid-19 crisis, which has wreaked havoc around the world, continues to affect football’s financing and transfer market.
“There will be a revolution in the market,” Capello added. “Offensive numbers were seen but now we will go back to a more reasonable level.
“It seems to me that the only team in Spain that will not be destroyed by the epidemic is Real Madrid.
“Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are going to do a lot of damage.”
