Can Zinedine Zidane still be on the pitch? A fellow Frenchman would certainly love to know this.
Wolfsburg captain Joshua Guillagovi starred in the face of Real Madrid bosses before the Champions League game four years ago.
In June, the former France captain will jump to the chance to reunite with Zidane, the World Cup-winning midfielder in Wolfsburg, regardless of age.
“We have a great team,” Guillagovi said. “But if Zinedine had a chance to play with Zidane, I would have signed him immediately. Even when he is about six. “
Zidane retired to play after the World Cup in 20id, his dramatic last performance being the head of Italy’s Marco Matarazzi that saw him make it to the finals.
Like Zidane, Guilogovi was raised on the French southern coast.
Now 26, Gilavogi’s respect for Zidane has only grown for a few years, so he made sense when he met his countryman before the Wolfsburg clash with Madrid in 2016.
According to Kicker, Guillagovi said at an Instagram live event, “I approached him as a kid.”
“What he did for France is crazy. He’s our best player and he’s always been a good guy too. When you think of him, you think of the class.”
