Sevilla coach Julen Lopetegui has warned La Liga that clubs will need at least five weeks’ notice to be ready to return to action after a suspension due to a coronavirus epidemic.

LaGiga was disbanded in early March due to COLID-19, which was contracted by about 230,000 more Spaniards than any other country in Europe.

A total of 23,521 people in Spain have died from the virus, but Monday’s death toll was the lowest since March 26 and it has decided to ease the lockdown from Sunday.

An indefinite suspension of La Liga was announced on March 23, but with signs of improvement in Spain, the focus has shifted to the sport and the potential resumption of the football season.

League president Javier Tevez has once again expressed his desire to have the season behind closed doors, but Loptegui should be allowed to return to form at least five weeks, with no fixed date.

“The situation and the guarantees need to be in place and then we have to have a set time,” Lopetegui told Sport, who are in third place in Laviga, the side of Sevilla in Lapig.

“The end of the season is going to be a test because we don’t know what’s going to happen. We have to stay calm and take public health seriously.

“All I can assure you is that there will be nothing like coming back after the summer break. Neither form nor mind will be 20 percent of it in the pre-season.

“We are clear on this. I think when the situation is approved and with the guarantee of the government, it is necessary to adapt for some time to save not only the virus, but other parts of health.

“Don’t forget that in La Liga and Segunda, everyone imagines big houses, but that’s not the majority.

“We are all human beings. This has happened with concern [of the virus] In the team. What is going on has not moved away from any profession and it affects the players.

“We need to talk about preparation time but as a director I see that we will need at least five weeks to be in a situation where we can play every three days in a setting that just didn’t play before. Behind closed doors, but after all this We have to be in the best physical condition. “
