According to Leonid Slutsky, Martin Odegaard had an offer to join either Liverpool or Ajax this season.

Norwegian international Odegarde joined Real Sociedad in July with a loan from Real Madrid and has impressed for a fourth-place finish in Laliga.

The high-rated midfielder signed for Madrid at 25 but played only 12 minutes for them at Laliga, spending most of his time away from the club in a loan deal.

Last year, he played for Vetse Slotsky on the EdVC team, and his former boss revealed that Odegaard was ousted by Premier League giant Liverpool after deciding on his next move.

Slutsky told EFE, “His time at Vitesse was important to him.

“He was one of the best players in Eredivisie and had a lot to offer. Not just from Real Sociedad, but also from Liverpool and Ajax.

“It is glorious to be part of Martin’s growth.

“He was in the gym every day and cared about his nutrition. He’s a super professional, almost a robot. Martin is one of the best professionals in my life.”

Odegaard, now 20, is advised to return to the Madrid squad if he returns to Los Blancos.

Slutsky added, “I’m sure Odegaard is ready to play for Real Madrid,”

“He already plays at the highest level and if Real gives him a chance, Martin will win a first place.”
