Mohammad Shami has revealed that he struggled with a broken knee in the 25 World Cups

India’s pacer, Mohammad Shami Recently it was revealed that he played the 2015 World Cup with a knee break and played the whole tournament in great pain.

During the session, Shami talked about how he struggled with a knee fracture and featured in two matches before each game with painkillers.

“The knee was broken in the first match. My thighs and knees were about the same size, the doctors used to take fluids out of them every day. I took three painkillers,” Shami revealed.

Shami was in great form, especially against Pakistan and collected the number 6/1 from nine overs but missed the match against UAE. Shami returned to the game against the West Indies and picked up three wickets each in the next three games.

Recalling his physical condition moments before the game, Shami claimed that he was in a lot of pain before the Australia match but Dhoni inspired him to continue.

“Before the semifinal match against Australia, I told the team that I couldn’t take any more pain. Mahi Bhai and management trusted me and they were really confident in my ability,” Shami added.

In that special match against Australia, Shami credited Dhoni for pushing him to give up everything for his team and noted that he continued the game to this day despite claiming that fans were in jeopardy of his career.
