Things were looking for the Chicago Bulls when Derrick Rose was named NBA MVP on May 3, 2011.
At age 22, Rose became the youngest player – and second only to the Bulls after Michael Jordan – to win the award.
However, this proved to be the pinnacle of his newly formed career, as a serious knee injury denied him the opportunity to maximize his incredible potential.
Using status performance data, we look at five NBA carriers that were injured and destroyed.
After the Bulls made their first overall draft in 2006, Rose was credited as a talent capable of leading them to their first NBA Championship since the Jordan era.
He was named Rocky of the Year and earned MVP Honors in the 2010-11 season after 25 points per game, 7..7 assists and 4.1 rebounds.
Rose led the Bulls to the Eastern Conference Finals against the Miami Heat that year, but they could not deny LeBron James his first appearance in the NBA Finals and lost five games.
However, an ACL tear in the first round of the playoffs the following season proved to be the first end of a knee injury that seemed to set the Hall of Fame career.
Rose’s production has declined since the Philadelphiers hit 76 against him, the most notable of which is his points per game from 21 to 1.8.6.
He has played 46 doubles and 41 30-point games before the start of the 2012-13 season, but since then he has managed only 12 and 15, respectively.

Shakil O’Neill’s first overall draft in 1933 encouraged Chris Weber to trade the Orlando Magic for the Golden State Warriors for Hardway, and the pair quickly formed a great partnership that made the team championship contenders.
The magic reached the NBA Finals in 1999, but the youth team spread to the more experienced Houston Rockets, and O’Neill moved to the Los Angeles Lakes after losing to the Jordan Bulls in the 1996 Conference Final.
Hardway was ready to become the top man in Orlando, but he was forced to miss the rest of the campaign due to a knee injury in December 1999.
He averaged 19..7 points per game and reached just 11.5 and 3.6 from ass.3 assists, respectively.
More than half of the 313 games in the four-time All-Star before the injury saw him score 20 points or more saw the ratio slip to just 14.8 percent in 391 appearances.

Hill, a two-time NCAA champion, entered the NBA with a lot of hype and established himself as a force in the league in 1994 after taking the Detroit Pistons for the third time in a row.
He joined a select group of players to create the All-Star Game in their first season and no one else in the league had more votes than him – he shared the rookie of the year with Jason Kidd.
Hill was a five-time All-Star and made headlines at Free Agency in 2000, but he maintained a broken ankle – which he claims was mismanaged by the Pistons during the first-round play-off against Hist, and that changed the trajectory of his career.
The younger forward landed with magic but was unable to continue delivering his previous rates – his average for points per game and support per game ranged from 21.6 and 6.3 to 13.1 and 2.6.
Hill has managed just 31 double-doubles in the remaining 591 games of his career – under one-fifth of the amount he collected in his first 435 appearances in the league.
His field goal percentage may have risen from 47.6 percent to 49.2 percent, but all five of his career’s 71 30-point games came after an ankle injury.

The all-round decision to be the Rookie of the Year in the 200s stopped at just one vote, with the Portland Trail Blazers averaging 1.8.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game in his first regular season.
He won a four-year high-paying contract in August 2009 and made his third All-Star appearance that season, but after surgery on a meniscus tear in his right knee – he also had a procedure on his left knee in a cartilage issue before – his career in April 2010 Went south.
Roy, who underwent knee surgery in January 2011, will play 52 more games in the NBA alone, five of which are 2012-1. The season came to a close with Minnesota returning from retirement with Timberwall.
During that time his points, assists and revenge per game halved (points: 20.2 to 11.6, assists: 5.0 to 2.9, rebounds: 4.6 to 2.6).
Before the start of the 2010-11 season, Roy played another double-double and 10 20-point games.

McGrady and Yao Ming, who could have competed in the Rocket Championships, have not been at risk of injury for six years together.
Despite an impressive start to life with the 2004-05 Rockets, Masgradi’s back spaces were ignored for the extended spell in the following two seasons.
The seven-time All-Star was given painful injections to relieve knee and shoulder ailments before the 200 time-07 playoffs, but in the second straight season he was unable to guide Houston from the Utah Jazz in the first round.
McGrady’s production has suffered a setback since the following promotions began. He trailed by a whopping 22.4 points per game, trailing by just 8.7 with one more 30-point game in the rest of his career, up from 205 before.
Since starting his career at the New York Knicks, Pistons, Atlanta Hawks and San Antonio Spurs – McGrady has maintained a 20-point ratio at every other game. Every 10 appearances
However, he still has a place in the Hall of Fame.
