Andre Onana confirmed that he was “ready to take action” in contact with the move to Barcelona, saying he wanted to leave Ajax.
Onana, 24, has played in the last four seasons with the Eredivisie Giants, where he came from Barাa in 2013.
The Cameroon goalkeeper was interested throughout Europe, with clubs including Barcelona, Chelsea and Tottenham linked up with shot-stopper moves.
Onana, who has a contract with Ajax until 2022, said he was ready to take action.
“Don’t get me wrong, I’m very happy with Ajax and I am extremely grateful for the club,” he told Eddie on Tuesday.
“There have been five great years here, but now it’s time for me to take my time. We made this appointment last year.
“I still don’t know what will happen, but my ambitions and agreement are clear.”
