The New Orleans Saints are set to sign a one-year deal with James Winston, and multiple reports suggest fellow quarterback Tissam Hill has signed a new deal.
Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports says New Orleans will bring Wilston into competition with Hill so that Drew Bryce can be backed up. Adam Shafter, of ESPN, has already said the Saints have locked the hill in the 2021 season.
Winston did not re-sign with the Buccaneers after the arrival of free agent Tom Brady, the fifth anniversary of the first season of 2015 with Tampa Bay, which included a playoff zero trip.
Winston led the NFL last season with 5,109 passing yards and was second with 33 touchdown passes, but he also topped the league with 30 interceptions.

Hill originally signed a first-round tender to return to New Orleans in 2020 and added another year.
Winston or Hill could be the last successor to 41-year-old Brie, who returned to New Orleans on a 50 million two-year deal but said in the past that he was taking his career once.
The franchise lost Teddy’s Bridgewater to the Carolina Panthers in free agency, leaving Hill and seventh-round Peace Mississippi State’s Tommy Stevens as Roger’s other quarterbacks.
