Christian Sefert, chief executive of the German Football League (DFL), has confirmed that the Bundesliga season will resume on May 16.
On Wednesday, Angela Merkel’s government gave permission for the top two levels, which have been suspended since March due to the coronavirus epidemic, to go behind closed doors in the second half of May.
At the end of the DFL meeting, Seifert announced on Thursday that May 1 was the chosen date for the withdrawal of the competition, although an earlier report indicated that the first game would be held on Friday, May 15, against Paddburn at Fortuna D ডsseldorf.
There are nine rounds of fixers left in the Bundesliga, and Eintracht Frankfurt and Warder Bremen will meet in their game.
