Despite an incredible comeback against Liverpool to secure a place in the Champions League quarter-finals, Atletico Madrid look to be far from the vintage season of Atletico Madrid.

Diego Simeone’s side was in sixth spot in Laliga when the coronavirus epidemic forced the world to postpone most sports and was kicked off in January at the Copa del Rey’s third-level cultural lionessa.

However, six years ago they took a significant step forward in one of the most memorable campaigns in their history.

We look back on those and other standout sports moments that happened April 9, year after year.

1912 – First a Fenway

It’s not quite finished yet, but Fenway Park has opened its doors for the first time for an exhibition match between the Boston Red Sox and Harvard Crimson. After being forced to make changes to nearby Park Riding School because the clubhouse was not open yet, players took to the diamond to embark on a new era when Casey Hegman threw the first pitch at Fenway Park for Harvard batter Joseph Payne Wingate for the Red Sox. Made the first nine strikeouts.

1989 – Floyd Green

Faldo’s hopes of winning the Nationals and a second major win in August after a drawn-out fight for leadership were all but five shots behind when he finished the third round on Sunday morning. However, he finished the day leading the clubhouse with a superb seven-under 65 and Cardiff Scott Hutch finished 17th with a five-foot par putt in two play-offs. Due to the frustration of Hooch again, he failed to stop the first leg of his sudden death from two legs, and Faldo punished him for turning for the first time on a 25-foot birdie putt to don the green jacket. He will win the tournament two more times.

1995 – Tendulkar shows signs of impending greatness

The 21-year-old, who was named as the Little Master, scored his fourth ODI century when India defeated Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup match in Sharjah. India chased down Tendulkar’s unbeaten 72 for just 25 runs under their 5-over 9. Tendulkar consequently became the youngest player to score 3,000 ODI runs.

2013 – Dortmund provides an incredible comeback

Signal Iduna Park has something special on the night of the Champions League, and the second leg of Dortmund’s quarterfinals against Malaga gave away a completely memorable game. Joaquin put Malaga ahead in the 25th minute after a 5-1 draw in the first leg at La Rosalda, but Robert Lewandowski confirmed that Jর্গrgen Klopp’s team had gone at half-time in terms of level. The composition was present on the wall of Dortmund when Elisu hit a second-half goal from the nearest range with eight minutes remaining, so the visitors would have to score twice more to avoid elimination. Marco Reyes tweaked their level in the opening minutes, and Philip Santana tied the ninth inning in the 93rd minute – though Julian Schaeber’s goal-scoring effort came home offside.

2014 – Atletico return to semifinals

Simon led Atletico to its Europa League glory at the helm in its first season and added the Copa del Rey and UEFA Super Cup in 2002-2. They reached new heights, claiming a 3-1 victory over Barcelona at Vicente Calderেরn for the first time in the Champions League semifinals after the new 3 ।s. -Post volley doubles hopes of Champions League and Laliga eight times, but they only managed to win second after Risal Madrid defeated them in the European final in Lisbon.
